Reminder:  This project is about Triangles, Circles, and Squares.  Shapes may be cut in 1/2 (for collage) but they should not be manipulated to form any other shapes than Triangles, Circles, & Squares.  Two Squares could be put together to form a rectangle -- but 2 squares should still be visible!!  Circles should stay circles and not become ovals.  (grins, this is NOT to be too persnickity -- we just want all students to be working with the same manipulative options -- Triangles, Circles, and Squares!)  Thank you!

ARTWORK:

  • If your class is creating collages, you will need to print out the pattern worksheets.  (You are not limited to using just these pages -- however, you are limited to Triangles, Circles, and Squares.)
  • Your students are welcome to create unique artwork (3D if they wish) and may use any textures which you OK.
  • Once the artwork is finished, your students (or yourself) will need to take pictures of each artpiece and upload them to your online storage option.
  • Please do NOT identify any of the pictures with "full" student names.  However, please DO indicate the school name and location.  If you wish to identify the pictures with descriptions, that would be great -- but again, no student names!  Thank you!
  • Once you have uploaded all your images, please send Jennifer the website of where the images are located.  (Usually there is a SHARE option within the website.)
  • Please DO NOT make your site PRIVATE.  If you do, other participants will not be able to view your work.

PICTURES:

  • If your class is taking pictures, you will need to provide the cameras for them.  Also, you will need to have a way of transferring the images FROM the camera to your computer.  (We have a local store here that I can take the memory stick to and they will burn a CD for me at about $4.95)
  • Your students will be looking for items around your campus that are either Triangles, Circles, or Squares (or a mixture of any or all).  They also can create their own shapes by using their bodies, shadows, classroom tools, etc.
  • Once the pictures are ready to be transferred, upload them to your online webstorage.

GRAPHICS PROGRAM:

  • If your students are creating computer artwork, you will need to have that software loaded on your computers.
  • Allow your students time to be creative.  They might wish to make more than 1 piece of art and then choose from their favorite.  Save the image when they are done.
  • Once the pictures are ready to be transferred, upload them to your online webstorage.
